Baseball Recap: Bishop Hartley Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Bishop Hartley hadn't done well against Dublin Scioto recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Irish a 3-0 shutout. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 8-6 victory the Irish walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The result came thanks to Braydon McConnell's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Hartley's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Moore, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Moore has become a key player for the Hawks: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. Another was Matt Galich, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bishop Hartley pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Dublin Scioto, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Looking ahead, Bishop Hartley will head out to take on Jonathan Alder at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dublin Scioto, they will take on Canal Winchester at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
