Softball Recap: San Domenico Wins Going Away Against Urban

San Domenico won the last time they faced Urban and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers blew past the Blues 14-4. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wren Wilcox was a standout: she got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rory Brunetti, who got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with three runs.

The win made it two in a row for San Domenico and bumps their season record up to 7-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Cornerstone Christian and 4-10 Urban. As for Urban, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Domenico will head out to face off against Redwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Urban, they are taking a road trip to take on Cornerstone Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blues are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
