League recap: Kings Christian tops Alpaugh to extend winning streak

Central Sierra (8 Man) recap November 5, 2013

Kings Christian extended the longest winning streak in Central Sierra (8 Man) this week by beating Alpaugh, 54-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Crusaders.

Riverdale Christian took down Faith Christian 68-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Kings Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joshua Robinson threw for 86 and 3 touchdowns and Eric Savage had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Mason Munoz chipped in 150 yards. Munoz helped Kings Christian's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.

GARY DHALIWAL made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Warriors fell to Riverdale Christian. He recorded 1 fumble.

He was 4-7 with 1 interception.

Munoz was a passing and rushing force as Cameron Brooks' team defeated the Buffaloes. Munoz's key target this week was Savage, who caught 3 passes for 58 yards.

Munoz was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 150 yards as the Crusaders beat Alpaugh. Teammate Theo May added to the ground attack by rushing for 77 yards.

Kings Christian's Robinson and Savage have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Robinson has thrown for 1,065 yards this season, while Savage has 30 catches for 506 yards. Northwest Christian's Deven Hillberg leads the league in rushing yards with 885.

An important game coming up in Central Sierra (8 Man) this week will be when Fresno Christian takes on Darren Hill's team. The Eagles are in second place, while the Buffaloes are in fourth place.

Chuck Spencer's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 68 points on Faith Christian.
