Mansfield Senior is 8-2 against Mansfield Christian since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tygers will be playing at home against the Flames at 5:00 p.m. Mansfield Senior will be strutting in after a victory while Mansfield Christian will be coming in after a loss.
Mansfield Senior is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Bucyrus 23-2 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tygers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Grayson Sanders and Peyton Page made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Sanders pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Page pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mansfield Senior is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise. At bat, Sanders got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Page got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

In other batting news, Mansfield Senior got a massive performance out of Joshua Malone, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Malone has become a key player for the Tygers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-11 otherwise. Guy Trader was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Mansfield Senior kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 20-5 to Central Christian.
Mansfield Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Hillman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
With the win, Mansfield Senior broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-11. As for Mansfield Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Mansfield Senior took their victory against Mansfield Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Tygers repeat their success, or do the Flames have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
