Basketball Recap: Tipton's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Tipton waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the St. James Tigers 71-36. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Tigers are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tipton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Schlotzhauer, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. Schlotzhauer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 37 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Williams, who went 8 for 15 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Tipton's record is now 13-2. As for St. James, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Tipton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-38 win against Chillicothe on the 18th. As for St. James, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-63 loss against California on the 18th.
