There's no place like home for Boone Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Portage Indians 3-2. Even though Boone Grove got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Josh Gillespie was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Gillespie and Manny Ooms scored all three of Boone Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

The win got Boone Grove back to even at 1-1. As for Portage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Boone Grove will head out on the road to face off against Griffith at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portage, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Merrillville at 5:00 p.m.
