Baseball Recap: Kiowa Has No Trouble Against Custer County

Kiowa won the last time they faced Custer County and things went their way on Monday too. Kiowa was the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over Custer County. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Thade Montgemery, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Kiowa: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jd Brewer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Kiowa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

The win got Kiowa back to even at 3-3. As for Custer County, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Kiowa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-12 defeat against Calhan on the 25th. As for Custer County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Evangel Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 3.
