Volleyball Recap: Aracely Pi?a Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat St. David

Poston Butte had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt St. David on Friday. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers. The Broncos were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Tigers, so the Broncos were just returning the favor.

Poston Butte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aracely Pi?a, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces Pi?a has posted over her last five matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Gruen, who had six aces and four digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Poston Butte was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. David only served six.

Poston Butte's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for St. David, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

Poston Butte has already played their next contest (against Benson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. David, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Blue Ridge on the 10th.
