Covington proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Attica Red Ramblers, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since May 6, 2024.

Kyven Hill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Nash Martin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cian Moore, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Covington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Covington's record now sits at 5-1. As for Attica, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will challenge Parke Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Attica, they will take on Oakwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
