Soccer Game Preview: Pell City vs. Jacksonville

The Pell City Panthers will head out to challenge the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pell City is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Oxford just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellow Jackets. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 4-0 to Westbrook Christian.

Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pell City, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
