Basketball Game Preview: University Titans vs. Calvary Christian Academy Lions

The University Titans are taking a road trip to square off against the Calvary Christian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

University is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 64 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Tavares on Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-28 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Melbourne Central Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Calvary Christian Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 52-42 win over the Hustlers. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Lions were the better team in the second half.

Calvary Christian Academy's record is now 9-7. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

University came up short against Calvary Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 64-53. Thankfully for University, Dontrelle Thompson (who went 8 for 11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
