Baseball Recap: Sumner Tigers vs. Bucksport Golden Bucks
Sumner extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-5 in the process. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucksport Golden Bucks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 last Monday.
As for Bucksport, they pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.
For Bucksport's part, Trent Goss was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Goss was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
