Softball Recap: Grant Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Grant entered their tilt with Tri County Area on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Herrmann was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last ten games. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Alexa Obenauf was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Payton Shoemaker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Grant's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Tri County Area, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Grant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair will be back at it again later today.
