Softball Recap: Lincoln County Comes Up Short

Lincoln County and White Pine squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lincoln County had to settle for second. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-6 loss on Thursday.

Bentley Barnes and BaiLee Cole stepped up to the plate in a big way. Barnes went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run, while Cole went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lincoln County's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for White Pine, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.

Lincoln County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for White Pine, they will take on Needles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight.
