Baseball Recap: Western Beaver Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Western Beaver took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against South Side, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Beavers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rams 4-3. For the Golden Beavers, this counts as revenge for the 12-1 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Benji Valdez was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of August Lichtner, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Western Beaver's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for South Side, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-6-1 record.

As of now, neither Western Beaver nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
