Softball Game Preview: Killingly Redmen vs. Wheeler Lions

The Killingly Redmen will head out on the road to take on the Wheeler Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Killingly has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Killingly fell victim to Fitch and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 21-0 to the Falcons. The loss continues a trend for the Redmen in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stonington.

Addie Stanley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Killingly's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Wheeler, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Killingly took their victory against Wheeler in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 16-4 score. Will the Redmen repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
