Softball Recap: Henderson County Takes a Loss

Henderson County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Greenwood on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 3-2. The Colonels have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Anna Kemp spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

Henderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-3. As for Greenwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-6.

Henderson County and Greenwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Colonels (ranked third) will meet Webster County (ranked 120th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Greenwood will face off against Central Hardin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 51).
