Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Westinghouse

The Northside Mustangs will take on the Westinghouse Warriors in a tournament on Friday.

Northside is headed into Friday's game following a draw, the team's first since April 7. They and Ridgewood finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

Angelina Erickson and Willa Kennedy scored both of Northside's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Westinghouse made sure to put some goals up on the board against Solorio on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Sun Warriors 4-3.

Westinghouse's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matchups. With that draw, Northside's record moves to 8-5-2.

Everything went Northside's way against Westinghouse in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Northside made off with a 5-0 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
