Volleyball Recap: Markel Alonzo and Myles Batson Secure Win for Maricopa

Maricopa not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Central Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Maricopa's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-13.

Leading Maricopa to victory were Myles Batson and Markel Alonzo. Batson had 11 digs, while Alonzo had 37 digs. That's the most digs Alonzo has posted since back in March.

Maricopa's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Maricopa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Notre Dame Prep on the 22nd. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against North on the 17th.
