Basketball Recap: Jones County Comes Up Short

Jones County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Stockbridge Tigers, falling 52-32. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Tigers are ranked 187th).

Jason Brookins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Stockbridge, putting up 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals gave Brookins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Niles, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Jones County's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Stockbridge, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Jones County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-44 defeat against Locust Grove on the 10th. As for Stockbridge, they will face off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stockbridge is facing Woodland at the right time seeing as Woodland is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
