Basketball Game Preview: Royal Oak Ravens vs. Athens Red Hawks

The Royal Oak Ravens will be taking part in a tournament against the Athens Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Athens better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Royal Oak really gets things going. Royal Oak blew past Berkley 58-38 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Athens waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 53-44.

Royal Oak has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points over those games. Athens' win bumped their record up to 9-14.

Royal Oak skirted past Athens 61-58 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Royal Oak repeat their success, or does Athens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
