North Baltimore extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 6-3 in the process. They blew past the Miller City Wildcats 10-3. Considering the Tigers have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brynlee Schmidt was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, North Baltimore got a massive performance out of Nevaeh DeWitt, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kenzey Young, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
North Baltimore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Miller City, they now have a losing record of 5-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 29th.
On Miller City's side, Morgan Verhoff made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Verhoff has launched this season. Bailey David was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Baltimore will venture away from home to challenge Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Miller City, they will head out to square off against Elida at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
