Volleyball Recap: Punahou Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Punahou can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls on Saturday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 6th, but that streak is no more.

While Punahou ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 21-25, 25-20.

Mia Furoyama went supernova For Mid-Pacific Institute., getting 23 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Furoyama has posted over her last six matchups.

Punahou's loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-15. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, they moved to 14-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

As of now, neither Punahou nor the Owls have any future games scheduled.
