Softball Recap: Sydney Bryant Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Randolph-Henry

Appomattox County put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the Randolph-Henry Statesmen get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Statesmen recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Paisley Mann made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

Mann wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Bryant, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Appomattox County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph-Henry struck out 15 times.

Appomattox County's record now sits at 10-3. As for Randolph-Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Appomattox County will head out to take on Dan River at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Randolph-Henry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Amelia County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
