Baseball Game Preview: Pacheco Panthers vs. Lathrop Spartans

For the second straight game, Pacheco will face off against Lathrop. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Pacheco came up short against Lathrop and fell 8-5.

For Lathrop's part, Vaugh Sanchez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Sanchez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lathrop is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-14 otherwise. Sanchez was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Nazir Jones was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ayden Louie was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Lathrop and bumps their season record up to 7-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Pacheco, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
