Softball Recap: Sewickley Academy Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Sewickley Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 5-0 to the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, Sewickley Academy's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Charlotte Andrews (2028) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Sewickley Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Jefferson-Morgan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
