Recap: University Trojans vs. Portola Bulldogs

The University Trojans pushed their score all the way to 73 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Portola at home by a decisive 92-73 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (56), University still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why University lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andrew Bogard. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shervin Moarrefian, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

University has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Portola, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-17.

University will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sage Hill at 7:00 p.m. As for Portola, they will head out on the road to square off against Irvine at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Irvine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday.
