Volleyball Recap: Davyn Piatt-Ferreira's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hanover Area over Tunkhannock

Hanover Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Tunkhannock Tigers. If the Hawkeyes were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hanover Area couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-19, 28-26.

Hanover Area lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Davyn Piatt-Ferreira, who had 11 digs and seven kills. Another player making a difference was Rodney Willams, who had six kills, five digs, and two aces.

Hanover Area's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tunkhannock, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Hanover Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Dallas on the 2nd. As for Tunkhannock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Wilkes-Barre on the 1st.
