Football Recap: Gulfport Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Petal + How To Watch

Gulfport faced Petal in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Admirals and the Panthers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Admirals suffered a 25-24 defeat. The loss continues a trend for the Admirals in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Several Admirals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper Crosby, who picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 85 yards and one TD. Another signal caller making a difference was Parker Nettles, who threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns.

Gulfport now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Petal, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Gulfport will head out on the road to face off against Pascagoula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Petal, they will be playing at home against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
