Basketball Game Preview: Monte Vista Mustangs vs. Foothill Falcons

The Monte Vista Mustangs will take on the Foothill Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Monte Vista is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since December 21, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of California by a score of 47-45. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Foothill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 73-46 defeat at the hands of Dublin. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Monte Vista beat Foothill 55-43 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Monte Vista repeat their success, or does Foothill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
