Basketball Game Preview: Powhatan Indians vs. Huguenot Falcons

The Powhatan Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Huguenot Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Powhatan is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Manchester just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to the Lancers 59-54.

Meanwhile, Huguenot ended up a good deal behind L.C. Bird on Wednesday and lost 68-49. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Powhatan's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Huguenot, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Powhatan strolled past Huguenot in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 59-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Powhatan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
