Softball Recap: Bunker Hill Wins Going Away Against West Lincoln

Bunker Hill lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Lincoln, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Bunker Hill Bears blew past the West Lincoln Rebels 11-2 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Serena Thurman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gracie Setzer and Kylie Killian did most of the damage at the plate: Setzer fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5, while Killian went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Setzer has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Stuebe, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Bunker Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Lincoln only posted a batting average of .120.

Bunker Hill's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for West Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunker Hill will take on East Burke at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Lincoln, they will square off against Foard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
