Soccer Recap: Ray Takes a Loss

The matchup between Ray and Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Ray Texans lost 7-2 to the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles. The Texans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Isaac Livas and Luke Gunning scored both of Ray's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Ray and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Ray will be playing in front of their home fans against Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ray is facing Miller at the right time seeing as Miller is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they are taking a road trip to face off against Alice at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
