Baseball Recap: Basha Comes Up Short

Basha lost against Brophy College Prep back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Basha Bears came up short against the Brophy College Prep Broncos, falling 11-1. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Basha saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Smith hit this season. Trevion Jones was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Basha's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Brophy College Prep, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basha will welcome O'Connor at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Brophy College Prep, it'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when Brophy College Prep Broncos challenge Casteel Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. They will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
