Softball Recap: Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack vs. Northside Mustangs
Saint Ignatius College Prep had lost five games at home, but after bumping their record up to 12-17 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Northside Mustangs with a sharp 13-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolfpack also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Zoe Smith made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie McClain, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Anne Crotty was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Saint Ignatius College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside only posted an OBP of .333.
As for Northside, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
