Recap: Haworth Lions vs. Wright City Lumberjax
The Haworth Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Wright City at home and fell 76-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Haworth in their matchups with Wright City: they've now lost nine in a row.
Wright City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braileigh Threadgill, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Threadgill hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Gibson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Haworth's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Wright City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haworth will take on Eagletown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wright City, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Caddo at 6:00 p.m. Caddo is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
