Preview: Winnetonka vs. Kearney
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Kearney. On Friday they take on Winnetonka at 7:00 PM. Kearney will be hoping to build upon the 47-6 win they picked up against Winnetonka the last time they played.
Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Kearney, but their most recent contest may have softened the blow. They were the clear victor by a 28-6 margin over Platte County. Senior Patrick Connery, who rushed for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Kearney's success.
Meanwhile, Winnetonka suffered a grim 21-46 defeat to Grandview last Friday. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Winnetonka.
Kearney's victory lifted them to 2-1 while Winnetonka's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll see if Kearney's success rolls on or if Winnetonka are able to steal their positive momentum.
