Basketball Recap: West Caldwell Takes a Loss

West Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Maiden Blue Devils and fell 59-15. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 68th).

Khiara Culliver continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maiden, going 6 for 8 on her way to 17 points. Culliver is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Neeley Campbell was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

West Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Maiden, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will square off against Lincolnton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maiden, they will face off against Bandys at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Maiden is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
