Recap: Lawrence County Red Devils vs. Decatur Red Raiders
While it was all tied up 36-36 at halftime, the Lawrence County Red Devils were not quite the Decatur Red Raiders's equal in the second half on Thursday. Lawrence County fell to Decatur 51-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lawrence County in their matchups with Decatur: they've now lost six in a row.
Lawrence County's loss came despite strong showings from Ben Newton and Braylon Dame. Newton scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Dame scored 13 points along with 4 steals. Kaiden Wear was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 3 steals.
Lawrence County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Decatur, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
