Preview: Cascade Cadets vs. North Putnam Cougars
The Cascade Cadets will head out on the road to face off against the North Putnam Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cascade is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Cascade ended up a good deal behind Triton Central and lost 55-39. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while Triton Central is ranked 104th).
Cascade's loss came about despite a quality game from Connor Sanders, who scored 13 points along with five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, North Putnam's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Indian Creek at home by a decisive 61-43 margin.
Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Putnam, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Cascade didn't have too much breathing room in their match against North Putnam in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was North Putnam's Brayden Monnett, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Cascade to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
