Calhoun lost to Trevor Day on Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cougars walked away with an 18-14 victory over the Dragons.
Ruthie Lefkowitz was excellent, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Maeve Pleven, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Calhoun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Calhoun's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Trevor Day, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Coming up, Calhoun will take on Irwin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trevor Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
