Southwood extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis Cass Kings. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Knights' highest-scoring contest to date.

Dalton Barney was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Duke Sparks was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Lewis Cass, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.

On Lewis Cass' side, Brody Williams and Owen Cotner-Graves did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Cotner-Graves went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Rowe, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Southwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 26-7 defeat against Eastern on the 9th. As for Lewis Cass, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-15 loss against Delphi Community on the 9th.
