Softball Game Preview: Holbrook Roadrunners vs. Mogollon Mustangs

The Holbrook Roadrunners will venture away from home to square off against the Mogollon Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Holbrook will be strutting in after a win while Mogollon will be coming in after a loss.

Holbrook will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Monument Valley on Saturday. Holbrook put the hurt on Monument Valley with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Roadrunners in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Mogollon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to St. David.

The victory got Holbrook back to even at 6-6. As for Mogollon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything went Holbrook's way against Mogollon in their previous meeting back in April of 2015, as Holbrook made off with a 17-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holbrook since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
