The Antlers Bearcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 56-6 defeat at the hands of Idabel. Antlers was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Kooper Johnson threw for 51 yards and a touchdown. Chandler Joslin was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Reece Crowsey rushed for 33 yards.
Among those leading the charge was AJ Smith, who rushed for 74 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Matrail Lopez also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Antlers' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Idabel, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antlers will square off against Valliant at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Valliant is ranked 203rd, while Antlers is ranked 193rd). As for Idabel, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilburton at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The timing isn't great for Wilburton: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Idabel has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
