Baseball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Jefferson

Kennedy never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the Jefferson Saints 11-0. The match marked the Commanders' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Eric Valenzuela made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kennedy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise. Valenzuela was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kalani Market was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Damian Ortiz was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

The Commanders will need to watch out since the Thunderbolts have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to challenge Alameda at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight.
