Baseball Recap: Bridgehampton Comes Up Short

Bridgehampton extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pierson Whalers. If the Killer Bees were looking for revenge after losing 8-2 to the Whalers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Pierson, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.

For Pierson's part, Lincoln Fischer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. Fischer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

While Bridgehampton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
