Basketball Game Preview: Dakota Ridge Eagles vs. Kennedy Commanders

The Dakota Ridge Eagles will head out to square off against the Kennedy Commanders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dakota Ridge is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Dakota Ridge came up short against Summit and fell 49-37.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Kennedy's strategy against DMLK on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Kennedy blew DMLK out of the water with a 56-15 final score. With the Commanders ahead 29-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Kennedy's win came from a few key players Dakota Ridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Morgan Williams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keana Venegas-Alvarez, who posted 13 points in addition to seven steals and six assists.

Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Kennedy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Dakota Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
