Basketball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Princeton Tigers

The Rock Falls Rockets will face off against the Princeton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rock Falls comes in on three and Princeton on 12.

Rock Falls is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Winnebago 42-40. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Indians are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. Princeton managed a 46-42 win over Byron.

Princeton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Rock Falls, their win bumped their record up to 24-8.

Rock Falls opened the new year with a less-than-successful 60-52 defeat to Princeton. Can Rock Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
