Baseball Game Preview: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Danville Warriors

For the second straight game, North Montgomery will face off against Danville. The Chargin' Chargers will welcome the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in North Montgomery's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Danville has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

North Montgomery fell victim to Danville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Chargin' Chargers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Danville's part, they got a great performance from Garrett Groce as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Groce a new career-high.

At the plate, Danville's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Chiodo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Mason Shipley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Danville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Montgomery struck out 13 times.
