Baseball Recap: Heights Wins Going Away Against Dodge City

Heights came out on top against Dodge City on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run sixth inning. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Demons. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won three in a row.

Kasch Oakley was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Heights' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-8-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Clayton Rittel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Heights back to even at 8-8-1. As for Dodge City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Heights and Dodge City will both be playing Blue Valley West the next time they take the field. The Demons will head out to face the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Falcons will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
